The library of Institute of Science is one of the finest academic libraries in Mumbai. The reading hall of the library is Majestic! Institute has promoted and encouraged research activities by providing facilities like computer systems, on-line e-journals, optical fiber networking and internet connectivity. The library has a separate reference / periodical section with back volumes and current journals/dissertations/thesis for ready reference. The total
stock includes above 26,000 books and 23,000 bound volumes of journals. All the books and journals are catalogued using computer programming. The Institute is a subscriber to INFLIBNET-N list which makes available 75000 e-books and 3000 journals in full text format to the faculty, researchers and students. Each year new books are added. In addition, the library also has a photocopying and printing facility. The facility is extended to the students with a nominal charge of Re.1/- per copy. Internet facility is also available in the library. Library books are issued to the students for a period of 15 days. A fine of Re. 1/- per day per book is charged to the defaulter.
Departments have their own library. Some of the teachers in the Institute have their personal book collection as well and they issue the books to the students for reference work.
